Genuine Athletics was founded in 2017 by Jason Bell who opened the doors of our first location in 2021. An 8000 sqft, high performance private training studio and integrated rehabilitation clinic located in South Surrey, BC. Genuine Athletics team of highly skilled healthcare professionals and strength coaches work together to provide world class service with care. Proudly servicing our community as their all in one stop for everything health and wellness. Currently offering personal training, group classes, team training, kinesiology, physiotherapy, chiropractic, acupuncture and medical aesthetics.
Founder & CEO
Jason Bell established Genuine Athletics in 2017 after leaving the corporate world of big box gyms. Opening the first Genuine Athletics location in the heart of South Surrey early 2021. Solidfying himself as an elite athlete and performance coach by breaking national record in Powerlifting, competing in Crossfit, Olympic Weightlifting and Bodybuilding before transitioning over to Strongman where he earned pro athlete status in 2022.
This lead to the opportunity of working with professional athletes from sports teams such as the BC Lions, Vancouver Warriors, Vancouver White Caps, and Toronto Blue Jays as well as celebrity actors such as Ryan Hurst, Jesse Hutch and Ayisha Issa.
Opening the rehabilitation side of GA in 2023 and now proudly offering Physiotherapy, Registered Massage Therapy, Chiropractic Care, Kinesiology & Active Rehab, Acupuncture and more. Jason’s goal with Genuine Athletics is to become your all in one stop for everything health, rehabilitation and performance. By building a supportive community of like minded individuals genuinely interested in witnessing each other win.

As a Personal Trainer, Online Coach and Nutritionist. I value education and experience as both have played critical roles in my personal development as a coach and multisport athlete. Inspiring my clients and community by proving I can walk the walk. I have competed at the World Level in powerlifting and won gold in two bodybuilding shows. Now as I focus my studies on perusing my Chiropractic Degree I have also taken this opportunity to begin training jiujitsu. I pride myself on utilizing my knowledge, experience and passion to cater to the needs of a wide variety of clients. Ranging from absolute beginners, stay at home moms and high-performance athletes.

Exercise, sports and healthy nutrition became a passion of mine from a very young age. Even filming my first exercise video when I was ten years old with my Mother. Once I noticed the life changing impact fitness had on my physical, emotional and psychological well-being I was knew I was destined to be a fitness coach.
After working in the industry for the last 2.5 years, and starting with Genuine Athletics in the beginning of 2022 its been SO rewarding. I love empowering women and give them the knowledge and tools to help change their relationship with their nutrition, their exercise habits and ultimately their life. In my mind, eating to fuel your body and your mind should never feel like a chore. Exercise should be fun. Taking care of your body should make you feel good. I always have fun training my clients. Sports have been a part of my life since I was young, this drove me into the weight room at a young age tinkering with exercises to find that edge whether it was speed, strength, agility or anything else to increase my capabilities. That said as I have aged out of my sports career, mobility and corrective exercises have been a new found passion for myself as I struggled to recover from numerous injuries from head to toe. I have been certified as a personal trainer at the international sports science association and I am continuing my studies at Douglas College in their sports science program and continue to push myself to try new exercises and activities inside and out of the gym. My coaching comes from a place of caring and compassion but I will push you to your limits to help you reach that level of fitness you’ve always dreamt about! Health, fitness and athletics have always played an important role in my life. Following my love of fitness and athletics, I played Division 1 Softball at Ohio University while obtaining my Bachelors in Psychology. As your trainer, my goal is to work with you to understand your personal fitness needs and goals and use my experience to help you achieve them. I will strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable as well as excited and motivated to come in and work towards your goals. I plan to work on both your physical and performance goals in the gym while also advocating for your overall mental wellbeing! I am a firm believer that being healthy goes beyond just physicality and I would love the opportunity to show you that.

My passion for fitness began in the early years of my Kinesiology degree when I realized the importance of taking care of your body in your everyday life. After experiencing how life-changing regular exercise was, I decided I had to share this with others. Throughout my years as a personal trainer, I’ve become aware of the negative effects of diet culture on society. I became so passionate about it that I started a fundraiser to help those that struggle with their relationship with food. This has inspired me to make fitness goals as sustainable as possible for my clients. By using the knowledge I acquire in my own time and in my degree, listening closely, and treating with care and purpose, I work hard to build a strong alliance with each of my clients to ultimately get them the life they want. My passion lies in empowering my clients to take control of their health and giving them the tools and education to obtain their goals.
Byron is a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer with a competitive background in Football and future aspirations for Powerlifting and Long Distance Running. As an athletic performance specialist Byron utilizes his knowledge and experience to empower his clients to exceed their expectations and overcome barriers. Making training the best part of your day with a fun, high intensity workout custom tailed to your specific goals and needs. Taking pride in developing a personal relationship with his clients, embracing all experiences throughout your fitness journey as a team.

After two years growing my confidence in the gym, in 2015 I decided to pursue powerlifting. After 3 competitions and successfully breaking the Junior 52kg squat, bench, deadlift and total provincial records I decided to change gears and challenge myself in competitive bodybuilding, placing 1st at Popeyes Fall Classic 2016 and 3rd at BCABBA Provincial Championships 2017.
My experience in both sports expanded my knowledge of the health and fitness industry and led me to become a certified personal trainer. I find happiness in encouraging others to see their full potential and guiding them to reach their goals. Whether that entails chasing strength goals and setting new records, or becoming more familiar and comfortable in the gym, I am prepared to help my clients work towards their goals with a friendly and sustainable approach. With over 15 years of experience as a professional swim instructor and coach, I’ve empowered countless individuals to excel in swimming. My commitment to promoting overall health and fitness led me to earn certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE), equipping me with the confidence, knowledge and expertise to make a more profound impact.

Being a naturally skinnier guy, I found it challenging to pack on muscle and strength until I learned the science behind proper training and nutrition. Learning to program with purpose and started training smarter not harder, seeing major improvement in all of my lifts and personal aesthetics. I understand that every fitness journey is unique, and recognize the importance of designing my clients programs around their lifestyle. Kinesiologist & Personal Trainer
I am a Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer with over 5 years of experience. I take a prehab approach to strength and conditioning by ensuring the foundations and fundamentals of correct lifting mechanics are established before making progressions. I help clients address and knock down barriers by creating well rounded, individualized fitness programs to maximize results. My current training regime is directly related to my goals, as they change throughout the year, which is also the approach I take with clients. Currently I am training more athletically to help with the summer sports I engage in, such as tennis, spikeball and golf. I am also FST (Fascial Stretch Therapy) certified practitioner, which helps clients recover from injuries, dealing with chronic pain and performing better.
Acupuncturist & TCM Practitioner
I used to spend my days in my cubicle at my dream accounting job researching what I now know to be syndromes recognized by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in an attempt to heal my own body and avoid getting a procedure. I felt that Western medicine lacked the individual approach that I strongly felt TCM had, and quickly realized that my growing interest for medicine should not be overlooked. In 2021, I completed my first of 3 board exams on my journey towards becoming a Doctor of TCM. I believe that true health is a balance of physical, emotional/mental and spiritual wellbeing. When one pillar is affected, the others are thrown off balance. I care deeply for my patients and take a holistic approach to therapy by combining acupuncture, cupping, diet, lifestyle and emotional wellbeing as a complete treatment plan. Together, we will bring awareness to your symptoms (which are really your body’s cues that something is out of balance) and connect the dots between your health concerns to uncover the root cause of your health disturbances.
Amrit Pal Singh
REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST
Amrit is a graduate of the Registered Massage Therapy program from Vancouver Career College, Burnaby. Working as RMT, Amrit has experience of treating a wide range of patient bases including nurses, care aid givers, elderly patients, MVA related patients, etc. Amrit’s goal is to design and implement a treatment plan that is tailored to each individual patient. His therapies encompass a wide range of methods, such as slow relaxing effleurage, direct and indirect Myo-fascial techniques, joint mobilization, trigger point release, passive stretching and deep tissue massage to help improve the quality of life for those suffering from acute or chronic injuries and aches.
In his spare time, Amrit enjoys being active by playing soccer and going for long walks. He also likes to destress through meditation and maintain optimal body health by going to the gym, swimming, and using sauna. He is also fluent in 3 languages including English, Hindi and Punjabi.
Registered Massage Therapist
Carlee became a Registered Massage Therapist in 2016 after graduating from WCCMT in New
Westminster. She has gained experience working in clinical and spa like settings and has worked
with a broad range of patients. She has treated conditions such as MS, repetitive stress injuries,
postural dysfunctions, and pregnancy symptoms and does not limit herself to these. Carlee uses a
variety of techniques to create a diverse treatment plan. She uses Swedish massage, fascial,
stretching and hot/cold stones to name a few. Carlee also has an interest in yoga and likes to
integrate yoga into home care and treatment as therapeutic exercise.
Jeff graduated from the UBC Physiotherapy program in 2014 and since then he has expanded his love of sports and
training into a full-time career focusing on bridging the gap between rehab and performance.
Jeff grew up in Surrey playing a variety of sports, creating a lifetime love of athletics. Thus, his overarching goal is
to get people of all ages and activity levels moving again through the integration of physiotherapy with strength & conditioning principles. Jeff believes in evidence-based treatment and continuously searches for new advances in physiotherapy to incorporate into his practice. Utilizing a blend of manual therapy, intramuscular stimulation (IMS), and exercise Jeff will help you recover from any and all injuries. During your first visit Jeff will listen to your unique story, ask a lot of questions and examine your whole body to understand the relationship between everything that isn’t functioning properly. Working together he will help you to optimize your movement and function, enabling your return to performance.
Outside the clinic Jeff can be found golfing, in the gym, running or hiking the local mountains and enjoying time
with his wife, children and dog.
Dr. Jaswinder Dev
Dr. Dev was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Winnipeg and completed his chiropractic studies at Life Chiropractic College West in California. His graduating class recognized him as the youngest student to graduate that class year. Shortly after graduating, he returned to Winnipeg to open his chiropractic clinic from scratch in the same neighbourhood of Wolseley where he grew up. At that time, his main focus was sports injuries, and he worked closely with the University of Winnipeg Wesmen basketball team athletes. Dr. Dev’s wife later established her dental clinic inside the chiropractic clinic. His practice quickly changed from a sports clinic to a family clinic, where he felt privileged to work alongside his wife on TMJ patients. He also developed a particular interest in providing chiropractic pelvis adjustments for prenatal and postnatal women. The highlight of his days was adjusting infants and children. After over 20 years of practicing in Winnipeg, Dr. Dev’s son’s university studies brought his family to beautiful BC. He is proud to call BC home and looks forward to treating the lovely people of BC.

With a background in soccer and long distance running, Alex is no stranger to hard work and leads by example living a healthy balanced life style. You can find her, and our beautiful daughter wandering around our facility or behind the reception desk on select days!

Among those that make up the backbone of our company, Morgan has taken charge of managing our administrative operations. With a competitive background in dance, Morgan currently volunteers with Autistic Youth and works part time with the Suicide Prevention Hotline. Get to know Morgan and say hello whenever you see her at our front desk!

The most gentle, loving and friendly puppers on the planet. Our wanna be guard doggo Nala actively aims to put a smile on the face of everyone who walks through our doors. Be careful, if she brings you a toy and you choose to play with her she will believe you are now the two best friends anybody could every have and will follow you around the rest of your workout. We highly suggest giving her a treat from the bowl behind our front desk before you leave, because she deserves it for working so darn hard.
