How much does personal training cost in Surrey and White Rock? 

Personal training rates typically range between $80-100 per session, varying based on package size and trainer experience. We offer flexible in-house financing to ease the initial investment cost. Contact us for current pricing and to find the best personal training package for your budget and goals. 

 

Do I require a gym membership to get started with personal training? 

Nope! A gym membership is not required to get started with personal training at Genuine Athletics & Rehabilitation. In fact, we encourage our personal training clients to arrive a little early or stay after their session to complete their warm-up, cardio, or additional exercises as part of their workout plan at no additional cost.

If you would like access to the facility outside of your scheduled personal training sessions, then an additional gym membership would be required. Our team can help you determine which option is the best fit for your goals and schedule.

 

What credentials do Genuine personal trainers have? 

All of our personal trainers hold certifications from recognized fitness and strength & conditioning organizations and regularly participate in ongoing education, mentorship, and professional development. All of our certified personal trainers receive 1-on-1 mentorship from ownership (Jason Bell - 13+ years experience) and have the opportunity to shadow and learn from our in-house healthcare professionals (physio/chiro/RMT/naturopathy) to ensure our clients receive safe, effective, and evidence-based guidance.

Many of our trainers also hold specialized certifications and experience in areas such as strength training, fat loss, athletic performance, functional movement, injury rehabilitation, youth fitness, and active rehabilitation, allowing us to support a wide range of goals, abilities, and fitness levels.

We also strongly encourage our coaches to actively pursue their own athletic goals and lead by example. Many of our trainers have competed in sports such as powerlifting, bodybuilding, strongman, CrossFit, HYROX, marathon and endurance running, Olympic weightlifting, and team sports. This real-world experience allows our coaches to better understand the challenges, demands, and mindset required to help clients perform at their best, whether their goal is improved health, body composition, strength, or competitive success.

 

How often should I work with a personal trainer? 

At Genuine Athletics & Rehabilitation, we require a minimum commitment of 1–3 personal training sessions per week, depending on the program and level of support that best aligns with your goals. This helps ensure you receive the accountability, coaching, and consistency needed to maximize your results and protect your investment.

Your success isn't limited to the time spent with your coach. In addition to your in-person sessions, our trainers will provide customized workouts through our training app, complete with video demonstrations and exercise instructions, allowing you to confidently train on your own between sessions. This combination of professional coaching, accountability, and independent training creates the most effective path toward achieving your health, fitness, and performance goals.

 

 

What should I expect during my first personal training session? 

Your first session begins with a comprehensive assessment using our VALD performance testing technology and InBody body composition scanner to measure factors such as strength, mobility, balance, muscle mass, and body fat percentage. We then complete a functional movement assessment on the gym floor to evaluate movement quality, identify limitations, and better understand your goals.

This information allows our coaches to create a personalized training plan tailored specifically to your needs while providing measurable baseline data to track your progress over time.
