Ultrasound-Guided & Regenerative Joint Injections
For joint pain, tendon injuries, and soft tissue concerns that aren’t resolving with conservative care alone, we offer ultrasound-guided injection therapies rooted in regenerative medicine. Using real-time imaging to ensure precision and safety, we provide treatments such as prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), neural therapy, and hyaluronic acid injections, each selected based on your specific presentation and goals.

Hormonal, Metabolic & Injectable Medicine
Support for PMS, menopause, PCOS, testosterone concerns, insulin resistance, and weight management. We also offer evidence-informed injectable therapies such as vitamin injections and other targeted treatments to support energy, recovery, and overall vitality.

Injury, Aches & Chronic Pain Support
Naturopathic medicine can complement physiotherapy and rehabilitation by addressing systemic inflammation, tissue healing, and recovery capacity. Whether you’re dealing with chronic aches, joint pain, tendon irritation, or lingering injuries, we help support the body’s repair processes from the inside out.

recovery and sports medicine injections

Recover faster, move better, and stay active longer. Our naturopathic doctor provides a variety of sports medicine injections to help reduce pain, support healing, enhance recovery, and improve function for athletes and active individuals alike.

Perineural

An innovative, minimally invasive treatment that targets the root cause of chronic nerve pain and musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. Using small, superficial injections of a low-concentration dextrose solution or an anesthetic around irritated cutaneous nerves, this therapy works by reducing neurogenic inflammation and restoring healthy nerve function. Conditions commonly treated include chronic back and neck pain, sciatica, fibromyalgia, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, joint and tendon pain, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuroma, post-herpetic neuralgia, and arthritis

Prolotherapy

Proven regenerative injection therapy designed to stimulate your body's own healing response in damaged or unstable tendons, ligaments, and joints. Commonly used for: chronic low back and neck pain, sports injuries, ligament and tendon tears or laxity, osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, and other joints, SI joint dysfunction, and joint hypermobility. It pairs especially well with physical rehabilitation and nutritional support.

Trigger Point Therapy

Targeted, effective relief for myofascial pain, that deep, aching, radiating muscle pain that can be difficult to resolve with manual therapy alone. A small amount of local anesthetic (typically 1% lidocaine) is injected directly into the trigger point, causing an immediate release of the muscular contraction and interrupting the pain-spasm cycle.

Corticosteroid

Deliver a powerful anti-inflammatory medication directly to the site of pain, providing targeted, fast-acting relief for a wide range of joint, bursa, and tendon conditions. Common conditions treated with corticosteroid injections include shoulder bursitis, knee and hip joint inflammation, plantar fasciitis, and arthritis flare-ups.

Hyaluronic Acids

Restore the natural lubrication and shock-absorbing properties of synovial fluid in arthritic or degenerating joints. By injecting pharmaceutical-grade hyaluronic acid directly into the joint space, this treatment helps reduce friction, cushion the joint, decrease pain, and improve range of motion. Hyaluronic acid injections are most commonly used for osteoarthritis of the knee but are also effective for the hip, shoulder, ankle, and elbow. SportVis (a leading HA preparation) is Health Canada-approved for knee osteoarthritis and lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).

Vitamin Injections

Deliver essential nutrients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive tract for superior absorption and faster therapeutic results. Whether you are dealing with chronic fatigue, nerve pain, mood imbalances, or immune challenges, targeted nutrient injections can provide meaningful support where oral supplements fall short. Currently offering vitamin D, vitamin B, and NAD.

Cosmetic & Therapeutic Botox

Therapeutic Botox is a targeted medical treatment used to relieve muscle-related pain and dysfunction. Commonly used for conditions like chronic tension, migraines, TMJ, and muscle tightness, Botox works by relaxing overactive muscles to reduce pain, improve movement, and support long-term recovery. Meanwhile, cosmetic Botox is a non-surgical treatment designed to soften fine lines and wrinkles for a smoother, more refreshed appearance. By relaxing targeted facial muscles, Botox helps reduce the appearance of expression lines while maintaining natural movement when administered properly.

Comprehensive testing and results analysis

Gain deeper insight into your health with comprehensive testing and expert analysis. Our naturopathic doctor can assess hormones, food sensitivities, bloodwork, and other key health markers to identify underlying concerns and develop a personalized plan to help you feel and perform your best.

Food Sensitivity Testing

Food sensitivity testing can help identify potential food-related triggers that may be contributing to symptoms such as bloating, digestive discomfort, fatigue, headaches, skin irritation, inflammation, and low energy levels. At Genuine Athletics & Rehabilitation, our naturopathic team utilizes comprehensive testing and individualized guidance to help you better understand how your body may be responding to certain foods. Using an evidence-informed approach, we create personalized nutrition and lifestyle strategies designed to support digestive health, recovery, performance, and overall wellness.

Hormone Panels and Blood Work Testing

Comprehensive hormone and blood panel testing can provide valuable insight into factors that may be impacting your energy, recovery, mood, sleep, metabolism, stress levels, and overall health. Our naturopathic team at Genuine Athletics & Rehabilitation uses detailed functional and preventative health assessments to help identify potential imbalances and optimize overall wellness. By analyzing key biomarkers and hormone patterns, we are able to develop personalized treatment plans focused on improving long-term health, performance, recovery, and quality of life.

Frequently Asked questions

Get answers to common questions about naturopathic medicine at Genuine

.

Is naturopathic treatment covered by my insurance?

In many cases, yes. Most extended health benefit plans provide coverage for naturopathic doctor visits, and many treatments performed by a naturopathic doctor may also be eligible for reimbursement. Coverage can vary significantly between plans, however, due to the broad scope of naturopathic medicine.

While naturopathic consultations and many injection therapies are often covered under allied health benefits, some treatments may be reimbursed through drug coverage instead. Certain diagnostic services, such as food sensitivity testing and specialized laboratory testing, are typically considered out-of-pocket expenses. Our team is happy to help you understand your coverage and determine which services may be eligible under your plan.

What can a naturopathic doctor help with?

Naturopathic medicine focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of health concerns while optimizing overall wellness, performance, recovery, and longevity. Naturopathic doctors can assist with concerns such as fatigue, hormone imbalances, digestion, stress management, immune health, metabolic health, nutrition, lifestyle optimization, and preventative care. They may also recommend advanced laboratory testing, personalized treatment plans, and evidence-informed therapies tailored to your goals.

Can a naturopathic doctor order bloodwork, hormone testing, and food sensitivity testing?

Yes. Naturopathic doctors can request and interpret a wide variety of laboratory tests to help gain a deeper understanding of your health. Depending on your needs, this may include bloodwork analysis, hormone testing, food sensitivity testing, digestive health assessments, nutrient deficiency screening, and other advanced laboratory investigations to help guide personalized treatment recommendations.

What types of injections and advanced treatments do naturopathic doctors offer?

Our naturopathic doctors offer a variety of advanced therapies including IV therapy, vitamin injections, trigger point injections, perineural injections, prolotherapy, corticosteroid injections, hyaluronic acid injections, and therapeutic or cosmetic Botox treatments. These services may be used to support recovery, reduce pain, improve performance, optimize health, and enhance overall quality of life depending on your individual needs and goals.

What is the difference between a Medical Doctor (MD) and a Naturopathic Doctor (ND)?

Medical doctors (MDs) primarily focus on diagnosing and treating disease, managing medical conditions, and prescribing medications when necessary. Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) take a more preventative and lifestyle-focused approach, helping patients optimize their health through nutrition, lifestyle counseling, laboratory testing, supplementation, and evidence-informed therapies.

Many patients choose to work with both an MD and ND to support their overall health and wellness.

What is the cost of sports medicine injections?

The cost of sports medicine injections varies depending on the type of treatment being performed. Some injections, such as perineural injections, may cost as little as $25, while more advanced treatments like Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy can range from approximately $700–$1,400 or more.

Please note that injection costs are separate from the naturopathic appointment fee. Our team will review all treatment options, costs, and recommendations with you before proceeding with care.
